* July 15th - Fest with our Guests ticket sales end. The remainder will be available for purchase at Convention Registration.
* The main hotel is Sold Out, but rooms are still available at our overflow hotel, AVID. This is a major resort area and there are a plethora of hotels in the area to choose from.

In Memoriam: T.A. Chafin

We are saddened to share news of the passing of our friend, long time Shore Leave guest, and super fan, T.A. Chafin. Chafin was well known for his deep knowledge of Star Wars trivia, but was truly a fan of all aspects of science fiction pop culture and a relentless researcher. Endlessly cheerful, Chafin was always eager to make his friends smile whether with a story or by participating in a silly comedy sketch.

Surrounded by loved ones, T.A. Chafin passed away on June 26, 2024. He will be missed.

Shore Leave Welcomes Universe Idol Showcase!

At this years Shore Leave we are proud to host the Universe Idol Showcase show.
What is an Idol Showcase?
An 'Idol showcase' is a dance and/or song showcase, focusing primarily on Idol music and Idol culture. The genres can include: J-Pop, Vocaloid, K-Pop, etc.
What is an Idol?
An Idol is a type of entertainer marketed for image and personality in Japanese pop culture.

Celebrity Guests: Our lineup spans all Sci-fi and Fantasy Genres as well as Pop Culture.

Fest With Our Guests: Join us Friday evening, July 26 in the Vistas Café for our first annual Fest with our Guests!
Enjoy a Pennsylvania Dutch Buffet while dining alongside the celebrity of your choice or come for dinner and stay for the after-dinner Mix & Mingle.

Art Show: The Shore Leave Art Show presents sculptures, original paintings, prints, and drawings from all parts of the Alpha Quadrant.

Writing Workshops: Improve your writing skills with workshops led by favorite writers, covering topics such as writing non-fiction in Trek, point of view in storytelling, and the challenges of being a writer.

Filk: Filk, the music of science fiction, fantasy, and related genres, is part of the Shore Leave experience.

Stargazing: Explore the planets, stars, and galaxies visible from Lancaster.

Meet the Pros Party: Autograph party with author guests and the chance to meet authors of the latest sci-fi releases.

Game Room: A variety of activities including a board game library, role-playing games, collectible card games, and miniature war games.

Photo Ops: Get a photo taken with your favorite stars and have it signed without leaving the hotel.

Fan Panels: Some amazing fan-led panels about your favorite Sci-fi/Fantasy subjects!

Science Programming: Shore Leave prides itself on its amazing Science and Astronaut guests. We provide programming that is informative and fun for everyone!

Small Budget Films: The ongoing renaissance in fan filming and small budget films continues to produce spectacular new works of science fiction and science fantasy.

Shore Leave is the annual meeting of the STAT Club of Maryland, a 501 (c) 7 Social Club.
