Peter David - Rest in Peace

The passing of author Peter David deeply saddens Shore Leave and the STAT Club of Maryland. Peter has been a member of Shore Leave’s author team since 1989 (Shore Leave 11). Not only did he sign countless copies of his books for fans over the decades, but he participated in many panel discussions and various other shenanigans, including writing some of the parody plays that used to be the last programming item on Sunday evening. Peter, Mike Friedman, and Bob Greenberger also performed the Mystery Trekkie Theater at Shore Leave for 25 years (1992 – 2017), making fun of Original Star Trek Series episodes the way only they could. They had us all in stitches.

While Peter’s presence will be greatly missed, his stories will stay with us forever. We are keeping his wife Kathleen O’Shea David and his daughters Shana, Gwen, Ariel, and Caroline in our thoughts. Shore Leave Blood Drive

We're excited to welcome the Red Cross back to Shore Leave! Be a hero and help save lives by donating blood. The Red Cross will be on-site Saturday 9 am to 2pm. Walk-ins are welcome, but we encourage you to schedule an appointment in advance at RedCrossBlood.org using the code: STAT.

If you can’t donate at the convention, you can still take part through our Virtual Blood Drive. Donate at a location and time that works best for you—just use the Virtual Blood Donation link to sign up.

Plus, all participants will receive a pair of stylish red goodr sunglasses! Virtual donors are also eligible if they donate between July 1st and 14th.

Send in your entries for the Shore Leave Logo Contest

We are seeking a logo design for our Shore Leave 46 (2026) convention. The top 10 designs (as determined by the Shore Leave Committee) will be showcased in this year’s Art Show, where attendees can vote for their favorite. The winning design will be announced after the convention through the Shore Leave newsletter and social media. The grand prize is a Weekend Pass to the 2026 Shore Leave convention. See all details on how to submit and other guidelines on our website!

The Shore Leave Emporium (Gift Shop) is open for business! We have some great items for pre-order up right now, such as our Shore Leave Bunny Mascot, Royal Blue shirts with the Shore Leave 45 logo on them (Embroidered!), and our second year of our very popular Challenge Coin series.

Pre-orders are active until June 1st, with pickup being available at the convention. Some items will be available at the con, but no guarantees as to quantity. So order NOW!

We have a great variety of Photo-Op’s available this year with our guests. Individual and group Ops are available. Be sure to pre-order as the number of sessions is limited.

Fest With Our Guests is back!

Last year’s Fest with our Guests was a huge, sold-out success—so of course, we’re bringing it back! Be sure to get your tickets early, as this event will sell out again. Online ticket sales end June 15th!

Fest with our Guests is a special dinner and Mix & Mingle event held on Friday night of Shore Leave. To attend, you’ll need a Friday or Weekend membership. This year, we’re featuring a delicious Italian buffet, and all guests attending on Friday will be joining us for dinner.
